Pruski is a Polish producer and composer of electronic music who has been exploring the borders of ambient and experimental music for years. His work is a unique blend of organic elements with subtle synthetic layers and field recordings, resulting in unique and surprising musical spaces that reference the foundations of ambient music. Pruski presents his music in various forms: from concerts to gallery exhibitions, film soundtracks, and producer albums. His compositions are characterized by deep immersion in soundscapes, where every sound is carefully thought out and placed within the acoustic space. His performances in art galleries are true sound art installations that harmoniously integrate with the surrounding visual space. He is affiliated with labels such as Whitelabrecs (UK), Crysalisound (Italy), and Four Tapes (Poland). To date, he has released seven albums in the ambient-experimental aesthetic, including “Playgrounds,” which was voted by listeners as the best album in Whitelabrecs’ history.
His music is not only appreciated by listeners but also by reviewers, who praise its originality, depth, and emotional impact. A recipient of numerous artistic and academic scholarships (including from the National Science Centre), Pruski combines musical practice with a solid theoretical foundation in his work. In the process of composition, he uses a custom-designed modular system, which gives his sound a unique character. Theoretically, he is fascinated by probabilistic relationships, which also become elements of his compositions, adding an element of surprise and unpredictability to his music.
He has performed at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, such as the Ambient Festival, Freeform Festival, Tauron Festival, National Gallery Zachęta, WRO Festival, as well as in China, Germany, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, and Norway. Pruski has also presented his compositions at film festivals such as the Krakow Film Festival and the Silent Film Festival. Each of Pruski’s performances is a unique experience, where elements of improvisation make every concert one of a kind. The natural setting for his music is art galleries, where improvised concerts become a unique experience, offering listeners deep relaxation and solace amidst the chaos of the modern world. His proposed sound art perfectly complements contemporary art installations, creating a comprehensive, multisensory experience.
For 10 years, Pruski has hosted his own radio show, “Beat Tools,” on Off Radio Kraków. In it, he presents a series of original podcasts prepared in collaboration with musical artists from around the world (e.g., Federico Durand, R Beny, Midori Hirano). He also organizes music workshops, promoting electronic music and sharing his knowledge and passion with others. His broadcasts are a platform for discovering new sounds and trends in electronic music, making him one of the key promoters of this scene in Poland. Pruski is an artist whose music is constantly evolving, inspiring and surprising audiences around the world. His works, full of innovative ideas and deep emotions, are positively received by listeners and reviewers, solidifying his position as one of the leading creators of ambient and experimental music.
Resonant Affections – Sonic Installation (2024/25)
Resonant Affections is an artistic project rooted in ambient aesthetics, exploring the concept of tenderness as a space for contemplation and human connection. The work uses a modular system to create immersive soundscapes that invite listeners to share in delicate yet deeply resonant sounds. In this project, tenderness is understood as a subtle yet constant resonance that can attract, connect, and create a space for collective reflection. The installation also incorporates an element of probability, where the modular system (Eurorack) processes participants’ skin microvoltages, generating random sound events. Custom algorithms, developed by the artist and based on scientific publications, are used to translate these inputs. This reflects the natural uncertainties and complexities present in human interactions. Special sensors convert the participants’ skin electrical tension into sound signals, symbolizing the physical response of humans to the presence of others.
As a result, the installation is open-ended—the final sound composition emerges from both the predefined structure and the audience’s interactions, influencing the soundscape with their actions and emotional states. A feedback loop is created between the composer and the audience: the ambient sounds affect the emotional state of the participants, and their emotions, in turn, shape the sounds being generated. This dynamic creates a truly unique experience for every performance. Each hour-long session and the recorded composition carry an entirely distinctive dimension, reflecting the participants’ natural and primal reactions, expressed through sound.
Resonant Affections focuses on the non-verbal aspects of tenderness, which here is not expressed through the semantics of words but through physicality, touch, and the chemical processes happening in the body. In this way, the project explores how intangible forms of human interaction can influence the sonic space, becoming a subtle form of communication based on feelings rather than words.
