Pruski – Drifting Stones

Label: IIKKI (France)

Drifting Stones” is a contemplative, cross-disciplinary project by the French label IIKKI, established as an artistic dialogue between Polish sound artist Pruski and Dutch photographer Paul Cupido. The project draws inspiration from Platonic dualism, exploring the symbolism of stones as a metaphor for permanence in a world of constant change. Pruski’s compositions, crafted entirely on a custom modular system, fluidly blend ambient with experimental electronics, deliberately embracing elements of chance and silence. His spacious soundscapes enter into a dialogue with Cupido’s meditative photographs, aiming to guide the listener into a state of contemplation and offering an experience of „dissolution of dualism”—a harmony of opposites where the world of ideas and the world of the senses merge into one.

Pruski -Private Language

Label: Whitelabrecs

Private Language is an album that encapsulates the essence of Pruski’s unique creative process. The foundation of his sound is a custom modular synthesizer system, which Paweł has personally designed and developed over several years, with Ableton Live providing an essential layer of control and facilitating his captivating live performances. His work is defined by an approach that seamlessly blends purely electronic sound sources into organic, intimate soundscapes. The album collects many months’ worth of detailed sketches and experiments into a cohesive collection of tracks, notably featuring a collaboration with compatriot Tomasz Mreńca, who contributes violin to the piece ’Last Particle’.

Pruski – Moments of Immersion

Label: Whitelabrecs

’Moments of Immersion’ is Pruski’s sixth album, representing a clear development of his established ambient experiments and techniques. The album’s distinctive sound is built upon a delicate balance of three core elements: field recordings, processed tape sounds, and the modular synthesizer. The title itself alludes not to a reflection of a specific physical space or time, but rather to the immersion within several experienced subjective moments. By abstracting the individual elements of these experiences, Pruski leaves only a hazy, atmospheric outline of a background. This approach evolves the core idea of ambient music—where music harmonizes with a specific space—by shifting that space to be one defined and changed solely by the feelings of the listener’s current moment.

Pruski – Whispers

Label: Whitelabrecs

‘Whispers’ marks Pruski’s return to the catalog, featuring a series of organic drones created entirely using the OP-1 modular synthesizer—a key source of experimentation, discovery, and evaluation for the artist over several years. Part of the production process occurred during the lockdown, a period marked by limitations on travel and human interaction. Conversely, Pruski began taking frequent walks in the surrounding forests, allowing him to listen and connect deeply with nature. It was here, encountering the rustle of leaves that began to resemble hushed whispers, that the idea for the album originated: nature’s constant, metaphysical whisper is evident all around us, if we simply choose to listen. Each track on the album represents an individual whisper from the natural world, which collectively forms a comprehensive sonic journey.

Pruski – Playground

Label: Whitelabrecs

’Playground’ is an intimate sonic journey into the world of a child—a realm unburdened by sophisticated sentences, complicated relationships, or societal conventions. This space is defined by pure gesture, boundless curiosity, and genuine surprise. It is an exploration of the surroundings, marked by a deep fascination with nature, attempting to look back to the beginning of our lives and recall the simple astonishment felt towards the color of leaves, the sound of rain, or the ticking of a clock. Ultimately, ’Playground’ transports the listener to a place where the tree encompasses the entire world, and a small meadow expands into the whole cosmos.

Pruski – Black Birds

Label: Four Tapes

’Black Birds’ is a deeply atmospheric, ambient work that explores the sonic interplay between darkness and flight, silence and sudden presence. Pruski constructs this world using his custom modular synthesizer system, balancing expansive, melancholic drones with organic field recordings, designed to evoke the fleeting shadows and contrasts found in nature. The album is a contemplative journey into shifting soundscapes, where the deep, synthetic textures serve as a backdrop to the fragile, transient moments of organic sound—a meditation on contrast and the subtle beauty found in places where light meets shadow.

Pruski – Sleeping Places

Label: Four Tapes

Sleeping Places the debut album of Paweł Pruski. Formerly known as Minoo, in this new endeavor he takes his listeners on a trip through the worlds of ambient and experimental electronics. The leading part of the album are synthetic sounds combined with processed field recordings. Conceptually the album is not an attempt to create a musical illustration of any place in particular. It is an interpretation of what is left only in memory, what is no longer a part of our reality. It is the end resultant of combining subjective memories, fragments that survived in the form of sounds.
