An audiovisual ambient installation/performance created for the opening of the new post-industrial objects gallery at the Silesian Museum. The project was based on an improvised live set using a modular synthesizer system alongside real-time generative visuals created in Max/MSP. The sonic layer combines ambient and drone-based structures with archival recordings of miners and former employees of the KWK “Katowice” coal mine, building a multidimensional landscape inspired by memory, industrial space, and the historical identity of the region. Presented within the Łaźnia Gwarek space as part of the museum’s inaugural exhibition programme, the installation offered an immersive audiovisual experience reflecting on the industrial heritage of Silesia.
Secoundsound is a project that straddles experimental music and sound art, based on the idea of recycling matter as a source of sound. Objects removed from everyday use are treated as carriers of memory, tension, and sonic potential. Sound is created here as a result of the relationship between a physical gesture and a processing system. Matter is not a passive material, but an active co-creator of the composition. The project draws on the traditions of ambient music, drone, and material practices in which both sound and its source are important. Recorded samples form the basis for experimental compositions and visualizations created in the Max MSP environment. Proprietary patches enable granular analysis, spectral processing, and the construction of layered drone structures. The generative system reorganizes the material in real time, treating samples as data undergoing dynamic transformation. Simultaneously, visualizations based on sound parameters— amplitude, spectrum, and microdynamics—are created, creating a coherent audiovisual system.
Embarking on an Asian concert tour, Pruski presented original compositions at the intersection of ambient and experimental electronic music, with one of the most significant stops being Twenty Alpha in Hong Kong—a space renowned for its dedication to avant-garde and interdisciplinary sound art, where he also led a short workshop and performed two live shows rebroadcast by Hong Kong Community Radio. The tour continued in Shenzhen, where he performed at the legendary Oil Club—one of China’s most important venues for electronic and experimental music—offering an immersive sonic experience where evolving ambient structures and subtle rhythmic elements encouraged reflection and deep listening. The series of performances concluded with a special contemplative concert at the Pingshan Art Museum in Shenzhen, successfully presenting his distinctive approach to sound—one that merges emotion, technology, and improvisation—within an international context.
Pruski / Paulo Cupido – Drifting Stones
Premiere: 05/05/2025
Record Label: IIKKI (France)
„Drifting Stones” is an artistic dialogue between Polish sound artist Pruski and Dutch photographer Paul Cupido, initiated and released by the French label IIKKI, aimed at capturing the ephemeral beauty and paradoxical nature of reality. Drawing inspiration from Platonic dualism—the tension between the material world and the world of ideas—the project explores the symbolism of stones as a metaphor for permanence in a world of constant change. The compositions were crafted using a custom modular system, moving between ambient and experimental music and embracing the unpredictability of modular systems, resulting in music that unfolds slowly and leaves room for silence. In dialogue with Cupido’s subtle, meditative photographs of seemingly floating stones, Pruski’s ambient soundscapes guide the listener into a state of contemplation, inviting the audience to experience the „dissolution of dualism”—a harmony of opposites where the world of ideas and the world of senses merge.
Paweł Pruski – Bolsena Sonic /AMP (performance / workshop) Premiere: 01/06/2025
Place: Bolsena (Italy)
Bolsenasonic: Micro-residency.The micro-residency took place within the framework of a multilayered music education initiative acting as a collaborative platform for jazz, improvised, and electronic music. This project, culminating in the Bolsenasonic festival in San Lorenzo (Tuscia), brought together seven artists from Italy, Poland, Austria, and Spain to foster professional development and cross-cultural dialogue. Meeting for the first time on the banks of Lake Bolsena, the musicians performed two unique, improvised concerts that blended synthesizers, granular synthesis, electric violin, and DJ techniques, showcasing the potential of international artistic cooperation.
Resonant Affection (Summary) „Resonant Affection” is an ambient-based artistic project that explores the notion of tenderness as a space for contemplation and human connection, using a modular system (Eurorack) to create delicate, deeply resonant soundscapes. Tenderness is interpreted here as a subtle but constant resonance, capable of attracting and opening a space for collective reflection. The installation incorporates an element of probability by employing custom sensors that process participants’ skin microvoltages, translating them into random sonic events through custom algorithms. The resulting sound composition is inherently open to change, as the final sonic environment emerges from a continuous feedback loop where the audience’s emotional and physical reactions shape the generated sounds, ultimately creating a subtle, non-verbal form of communication rooted in feeling rather than semantics.
Pawel Pruski – A Future City Vision (performance)
Premiere: 20/07/2024
Place: Dom Utopii (Nowa Huta)
An original sound composition was presented as part of the “Deep Listening Concerts” series, exploring the vision of a future city viewed through the unique soundscape of Nowa Huta. Utilizing ambient techniques, elements of experimental music, and field recordings, the work created a sonic layer that gradually permeated and transformed the surrounding urban sounds, ultimately replacing them entirely at the climactic moment. The inspiration drew from Far Eastern philosophical concepts, particularly the idea of deep listening—symbolized by the perception of reality’s imperceptible aspects—and aimed to translate these ideas into the context of contemporary urban space, prompting reflection on the future of cities, both urbanistically and acoustically. The concert itself was part of the broader “Nowa Huta Odyssey” project, which sought to integrate sound art with public space and promote mindful listening practices as tools for interpreting the surrounding world.
Pruski – Spatial Improvisations (Concert / Sonic Installation)
Premiere: 07/12/2024
Place: MONOM/Funkhaus (Berlin)
One of Europe’s most unique sound studios, MONOM in Berlin, hosted an extraordinary concert realized using the innovative Dolby Atmos spatial audio system, which served as the finale of an artistic micro-residency. The event fully exploited the potential of dozens of speakers arranged around the audience, offering listeners an immersive, almost physical experience of being enveloped in sound. The concert was part of an international artistic platform dedicated to strengthening collaboration between composers from Poland and Berlin, featuring artists from diverse backgrounds who improvised to create a unique fusion of artistic visions with cutting-edge audio technology. Furthermore, the entire event was recorded using specialized 360° cameras, allowing it to be re-experienced in virtual reality via devices such as Apple Vision Pro or Oculus, making it a comprehensive audiovisual journey that redefines the way live music can be experienced.
